Welcome to the offical website of the Brampton Acro Ropers competitive jump rope team. The Brampton Acro Ropers are a competition skipping team from Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1987, the Brampton Acro Ropers compete in regional, provincial, national and international competitions. The Brampton Acro Ropers are composed of energetic and enthusiastic eight to seventeen year olds who love the challenge and fun of this competitive sport.  In recent years, the team has travelled throughout Canada and the U.S. to attend competitions and elite jump rope workshops.

The Brampton Acro Ropers are actively involved in the community, promoting fitness awareness at local schools and community events. The Brampton Acro Ropers will do demonstrations for schools, community events, and business events. A demonstration consists of choreographed skipping routines involving our complete team. The Brampton Acro Ropers skip to lively music that makes the audience want to get up and join us. We guarantee that you will be tapping your feet as you enjoy our amazing acro-roping. If you haven't seen a world class rope skipping team then you don't know what you are missing. For something different at your next event, send us an email. You won't regret it!

Our performance history includes appearances in the Disney movie "Jump In!", Canada AM, CityTv, YTV, at Toronto Argonauts football games, and most recently at the Sprockets Film Festival premiere of the documentary "Jump". Also the Acro Ropers sponsors a recreation program to inspire novice skippers to develop their talents.

The Sport of Jump Rope

Anyone can skipSkipping has been around for thousands of years, although historically, it was only boys, using grapevines or clothesline as ropes, who were permitted to skip.

The sport of jump rope, however, has a much more current history. Recognized officially in Canada in 1982, competitive skipping is governed by the CRSF. Today the sport has jump rope associations in over 15 other countries and includes national, U.S., European, and bi-annual world competitions.

Athletes compete in both individual and team events (male, female and mixed). Skipping lingo includes phrases such as suicide, donkey kick, pretzel, octopus, triple unders and speed, speed, speed!

It is the fun and exhilaration of conquering these strange sounding and spectacular moves that inspire the over 1000 young Canadian athletes involved in this terrific sport!
